About the flag

Bangladesh is correct. Its flag’s red disc represents the rising sun and the blood of those who died in the 1971 Liberation War, while the green evokes the country’s fertile landscape. The disc is set slightly toward the hoist so it appears centered when flying. The original 1971 version even included a map of Bangladesh inside the disc, later removed for simplicity. Memory tip: think “red sun over green rice fields.” To avoid mix-ups: Indonesia is just red over white, the Maldives features a white crescent on a green panel inside red, and Mongolia has vertical stripes with the Soyombo symbol.
