About the flag

El Salvador is correct. Its flag preserves the blue–white–blue pattern of the former Federal Republic of Central America, with the national coat of arms in the center: a triangle with five volcanoes (the former member states), a Phrygian cap of liberty under a rainbow, and the motto “Dios, Unión, Libertad.” Memory tip: Think “El Salvador = salvation/liberty,” tied to the red liberty cap in the emblem. Don’t mix it up with the distractors: Belize’s flag has a busy shield with two figures on blue with red edges; Barbados shows a bold black trident on gold; Uruguay features many white-and-blue stripes and the Sun of May.
