About the flag

Guatemala is correct because the flag features light-blue stripes flanking white with the national coat of arms at center: a quetzal bird (symbol of liberty), a scroll dated 15 de Septiembre de 1821 (independence), crossed weapons, and a laurel wreath. The blue represents the Pacific and Caribbean, while white stands for peace. Memory tip: “Guate-Quetzal”—Guatemala’s flag is the only one with the quetzal, which is also the country’s currency name. To avoid mix-ups: Belize’s flag has human figures and darker blue with red edges; Venezuela uses a yellow-blue-red tricolor with stars; Canada has a red maple leaf.
