About the flag
It’s India: the blue Ashoka Chakra at the center identifies it. The saffron, white, and green bands symbolize courage and sacrifice; peace and truth; and faith, fertility, and growth. Adopted in 1947 and designed by Pingali Venkayya, the flag replaced Gandhi’s spinning wheel with the Ashoka wheel, whose 24 spokes stand for righteous duty (dharma) and continual progress. Memory tip: think of India “rolling forward” on a blue wheel. To tell it apart from the options: Saudi Arabia’s flag has Arabic script and a sword; the UAE uses pan-Arab colors with a vertical red bar; Tajikistan features a crown and seven stars.
