Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

The three green diamonds form a clear “V” — V for Vincent — and symbolize the Grenadine islands, nicknamed the “Gems of the Antilles.” The blue, gold, and green represent sea/sky, sand/sun, and lush vegetation. That makes it distinct from Saint Kitts and Nevis’s diagonal stars, Colombia’s yellow–blue–red tricolor, and Suriname’s red–green–white with a gold star. Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is a Caribbean archipelago that gained independence in 1979; its main island hosts the active La Soufrière volcano.
