Spain is correct. The Spanish “rojigualda” features a broad yellow band flanked by red and bears the national coat of arms—unlike Russia, Slovenia, and Serbia, which use Slavic white-blue-red tricolors (with Slovenia and Serbia adding different coats of arms). Historically, Spain’s colors were chosen in 1785 for naval visibility. The coat of arms includes symbols of Spain’s historic kingdoms and the Pillars of Hercules with the motto “Plus Ultra” (“More Beyond”), celebrating Spain’s age of exploration. Memory tip: think “sunny Spain” for the wide yellow band, and “Plus Ultra” for a country that sailed beyond the known world—distinct from the Slavic tricolors of the other options.
